The Bracknell Bees are delighted to confirm the newest addition to their 2017-18 National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) Division 1 South squad.
Twenty-three year old netminder Danny Milton has agreed to join the side having been with the Bracknell Hornets for the past two seasons.
Danny began his hockey with the Slough junior organisation with the U16 Spitfires and U19 Harrier Hawks before moving to the Basingstoke junior for a couple of seasons, again at U16 and U18 levels.
Danny was also a regular with the South East conference team playing from under 11’s to under 15’s. Returning to Slough in 2010-11 Danny would remain with the club for five more seasons and as well as icing for the U18 and ENL sides he started to train and play with the EPIHL Jets. Whilst with the Slough organisation Milton won an ENL2 South Championship in 2010-11, an EPIHL Playoff Championship in 2011-12 and also an NIHL 2 South East Championship in 2014-15.
At the start of the 2015-16 season Danny made the move down the M4 to Bracknell and joined the Hornets. In sixty-five starts for the Hornets he has posted an average save percentage of 91% in all competitions.
Recently the Bracknell Ice Hockey Club (BIHC) also announced Danny would be the clubs net-minding coach for the upcoming junior seasons also.
Scott Spearing, Bracknell Bees Head Coach, said of the latest addition to the Bees squad:
“I had been impressed with how Danny has performed in his last two seasons for the Bracknell Hornets and with past experience playing for the Slough Jets in the EPIHL. He understands what level the team and I are aiming to achieve. Danny is a great guy and has a great attitude on and off the ice and will only enhance the depth of our goaltending.“
As in previous seasons we are happy to announce that Danny’s jerseys will be available as part of our 2017-18 Own & Loan Jersey scheme.
The Light or Dark jerseys are both available and complete details of the scheme and the jersey designs will be released soon but if you are interested in participating in this great opportunity then please email us at email@example.com with the details of the jersey you are interested in.
All shirts are sold on a first come, first served basis and the process is that you “own” the jersey and “loan” it back to the player for the season to wear. The jersey will then be presented to the owner at the end of the season at a time and date to be arranged.
