The Bracknell Bees Supporters Club (BBSC) held their Annual General Meeting at The Hive this past Wednesday evening.
The meeting got underway with apologies being made for the absence of two of the committee, Chairman Steve Goldstone and Secretary Chrissy McCarthy, who were unfortunately unable to attend.
The Treasurer’s report was given for the 2016/17 season covering the various match night fundraising initiatives, such as 50/50, shirt off a back, merchandise, chuck-a-puck/duck, and a run-down of monies raised from them over the season being presented as well as expenditures incurred.
The Vice-Chairperson Yvonne Slater then went on to give the rest of the season review – especially around social events, including a breakdown of the events and monies raised. The ever popular Quiz Night (with thanks being given to Jim Keen for his quiz master duties) the Race Night (presented by Please Entertain Me and Graham Hill as Master of Ceremonies) and of course the End Of Season Award Ceremony and Evening (held at our sponsors Blues Smokehouse).
She went on to thank all the Supporters Club Match Night volunteers who helped out throughout the season with merchandise sales, 50/50 and Shirt off a Back Sales, Chuck-a-Puck and Chuck-a-Duck sales and various other initiatives and services.
In summing up the committee thanked everyone for their support and assistance over the season and announced that a sum of over £25,000 had been raised throughout the season.
The final act of the evening was to look at the make-up of the committee, as it was announced that Chairman Steve Goldstone had decided to step down from the role due to personal and family commitments, Treasurer Chrissy McCarthy had also decided to step down due to health issues and Yvonne Slater had likewise stepped down from her Vice Chairperson role as she had taken on a larger Match Night Co-ordinator role for the Bees and was unable to commit the time she felt the role required.
A new Chairman was nominated and elected as too was a new Vice Chairman and a new Secretary and to that end the Supporters Club would like to welcome Richard Dobney (stepping up from Secretary) to become the new Chairman, Ashley Willitt as the new Vice Chair and Aimee Rodriguez as the new Supporters Club Secretary. The Supporters Club however are still seeking a new Treasurer and anyone wishing to volunteer for the role is asked to contact the BBSC at email@example.com
An appeal was also made for general match night volunteers for the forthcoming season, to assist with merchandise sales and 50/50 & Shirt Off a Back ticket sales as well as any other duties they may wish to volunteer for. Again interested parties are invited to email the BBSC at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interest in helping out this coming season.
The committee then welcomed, and answered, questions from the floor and also listened to feedback provided and several new & interesting ideas and suggestions.
