Weekend Preview – EPIHL Regular Season Week 27

This coming weekend the Bracknell Bees start their weekend’s action on Saturday with a short road trip to Milton Keynes to take on the second placed Lightning (7pm) before returning home to The Hive on Sunday to face the team that the Bees are chasing for the final play-off spot, the Sheffield Steeldogs (6pm faceoff).

On Saturday the Bees head to Milton Keynes for the rematch of last Sunday evenings game at The Hive against the Lightning.   The visitors held a narrow lead going into the second period last Sunday before a blitz from the Bees put them four goals to one to the good, unfortuantely the Lightning mounted a comeback and sealed a narrow five to four win to break Bees and Bees fans hearts after an impressive display.   The Lightning had deated the Sheffield Steeldogs the evening before so the Bees know that they will have their hands full in Milton Keynes on Saturday and will be looking to cause an upset and pick up their first win over the Lightning this season to build on the peformance at The Hive last weekend.

Sunday, back at The Hive, see the Sheffield Steeldogs roll into town.   In what is sure to be a physical and tense game the Bees will need to beat the Steeldogs to keep their chances of catching the Sheffield side for the final playoff spot.   The Steeldogs have won one game in their last six, but the win was over the Guildford Flames and there was an overtime loss to the Swindon Wildcats in those five losses also.   The Bees already have two wins over the Steeldogs but both came in Sheffield and so far this season the Bees are yet to defeat the Sheffield side at The Hive having lost out in the two previous games narrowly.   The game should be a barn burner if previous games between the sides this campaign are anything to go by!

Tickets for this Sundays home game v Sheffield Steeldogs are now available from the rink box office on 01344 789000 or can be purchased on the day.

The weekly 50/50 cash prize draw will be return at the home game on Sunday as will the ever popular Shirt Off A Back raffle.   It is player/coach Lukas Smital’s Armed Forces shirt up for grabs this weekend!  Raffle ticket sellers can be found in the foyer at reception, in the Bees Knees bar and around the rink – remember you need to BEE In It To Win It!

Also the post-game signing table returns this week so why not bring those jerseys, programmes etc.. along and get them signed.   This is a weekly event so please check our social media and programme each week to see who will be manning the signing table after each game.  On the signing table tonight post-game will be Lukas Smital, Harvey Stead & Shaun Thompson!

Don’t forget to pick up your copy of the Bees official match night programme The Buzz, packed full of articles, match reports etc… and still only £2.50 again this season!

We look forward to seeing you all at The Hive on Sunday for the Bees home game against the Sheffield Steeldogs or on the road the previous evening as the Bees make the trip to Milton Keynes to face the Lightning following last weekends all action game at The Hive between the two sides – make it Loud & Proud for the Bees!
