Young British forward added to Bees line-up

The Bracknell Bees are today announcing another youthful addition to their 2017-18 National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) Division 1 South squad as nineteen year old, Chertsey born, forward Jared Lane joins the club.

Jared has been with the Guildford organisation since before his U16’s days and went on to represent the Guildford Firestars (U16), Phoenix (U18), Fire Kings (U20) as well as the senior side Flames in the EPIHL.

Lane was an Alternate Captain of the U18’s Phoenix in 2015-16, a season he split with the U20 Fire Kings and also five games with the Flames, before a full season as Captain of the U20’s Fire Kings and also a part of the EPIHL Flames in the same campaign.

Boasting nearly fifty EPIHL matches already as well as a record of over a point a game at U18 and U20 level the young forward already has experience beyond his years and is a natural leader, a solid team player with a keen eye for net that the club hope will continue his development with us in our inaugural NIHL season.

Bees player/coach Scott Spearing said of the signing of Lane:
“Jared has a bright future ahead of him and has not yet been given a consistent platform to show what he is capable of. I have been very impressed with what I’ve seen of him – he is a talented young lad and his style will compliment and mix well with the other players on the team.“

As in previous seasons we are happy to announce that Jared’s jerseys will be available as part of our 2017-18 Own & Loan Jersey scheme.

The Light or Dark jerseys are both available and complete details of the scheme and the jersey designs will be released soon but if you are interested in participating in this great opportunity then please email us at beesownandloan@gmail.com with the details of the jersey you are interested in.

All shirts are sold on a first come, first served basis and the process is that you “own” the jersey and “loan” it back to the player for the season to wear. The jersey will then be presented to the owner at the end of the season at a time and date to be arranged.
