The Bracknell Bees, continuing to build their inaugural National Ice Hockey League Division 1 South squad, are delighted to announce the signing of highly rated Bristol born forward Steve Osman
The twenty-nine year old forward, who was part of last season’s NIHL South Playoff Champion Invicta Dynamos, has an impressive record at NIHL and NIHL2 levels and is a proven point’s scorer. In 2015/16 Osman was the NIHL South Division 1 highest points’ scorer and was voted the Invicta Dynamos Forward of the Year. With over 400 NIHL/ENL points, including over 230 goals, in 250 NIHL/ENL appearances Osman brings a wealth of NIHL experience to the Bees line-up.
The forward boasts not only last season’s NIHL South Playoff Champions medal but also an NIHL2 South Playoff Champions and South West Champions double in 2014-15 with the Bristol Pitbulls alongside an ENL2 South Championship win in 2009-10, again with the Bristol Pitbulls.
Starting his senior career with the Bristol Pitbulls in 2009-10 Osman also had brief spells in the EPIHL with the Basingstoke Bison and Telford Tigers during two full seasons with the Bristol club. A move to the Cardiff Devils NIHL side in 2012 saw him rack up twenty-seven goals and thirty-six assists in thirty games for the Welsh side and also earning a call up to the Elite League Devils for a handful of games too. A full season on the Isle Of Wight for the Raiders followed, including thirty more goals, before a move to the Invicta Dynamos for the start of the following season. Osman would split his first season between the Dynamos and the Bristol Pitbulls as he moved to the NIHL2 side at Christmas. The move proved successful for him as he picked up the NIHL2 South Playoff Championship and South West Championship double. An off-season move to the Oxford City Stars followed before a return to the Invicta Dynamos part way through the campaign and the forward went on to end the season as the NIHL South Division 1 highest points’ scorer. Re-signing with the Dynamos at the start of last season Osman went on to rack up another ten goals and twenty assists in twenty-eight games for the Kent side.
Bracknell Bees Head Coach Scott Spearing speaking on the latest addition to the Bees squad commented:
“I’m very pleased to add Ozzy to the team. He contacted me during the summer and had the perfect attitude. He is a proven top player in the NIHLand I think he will fit very well into the group of players that I’m putting together. I’m looking forward to working with him and seeing what he can bring to the team.“
As in previous seasons we are happy to announce that Steve’s jerseys will be available as part of our 2017-18 Own & Loan Jersey scheme.
The Light or Dark jerseys are both available and complete details of the scheme and the jersey designs will be released soon but if you are interested in participating in this great opportunity then please email us at email@example.com with the details of the jersey you are interested in.
All shirts are sold on a first come, first served basis and the process is that you “own” the jersey and “loan” it back to the player for the season to wear. The jersey will then be presented to the owner at the end of the season at a time and date to be arranged.
